FAQs
1. Q: Do you guys do weddings outside of Rhode Island? How far will you travel?
A: Yes, we do. We have done weddings in all six New England states and in New York state. If you are inquiring about us play your wedding we are honored to be considered and will make every attempt to make it happen no matter where you are having your reception!
2. Q: I saw that you are already booked at a nightclub for my wedding date but I was wondering if you would be willing to make a switch to accommodate us?
A: Yes. We will switch the date from a nightclub or bar if we are given a reasonable amount of time to notify the nightclub we are scheduled to play that night. Ideally, if we could get at least 90 days, we can probably make the switch happen.
3. Q: I saw your song list on the website. Do you have a different song list that you do for weddings?
A: Our song list on the website is pretty much the same play list we would do at your wedding. We are also capable of adding a song or two for your wedding if we are given reasonable time to learn it. We have listed a few songs at the bottom of the song list page that we have specifically added for weddings in the past and can replay those songs at your wedding if you let us know ahead of time that you want to hear them. Certain songs typically do not get played at weddings of course but you will have the final say as to what is ultimately played.
4. Q: How do you guys dress at a wedding? Is your presentation different than that of when I've seen you at bars or nightclubs?
A: We wear tuxes. There are some pics if you click the back button of how we've dressed at past weddings. If the tuxes are too dressy, we can dress down to your liking. And yes, our presentation is a little different at a wedding than it is in a nightclub or bar. I guess the most important thing I can tell you is that we are aware that we need to appeal to a broad spectrum of ages as well as demographics. We spend a good deal of time playing a lot of the traditional types of songs that you and your guests may be accustom to hearing at weddings during the cocktail and dinner hours before the band comes on through the use of the computer over the PA. It's just as if a DJ were playing the first part of the wedding and Those Guys were coming on after the dinner hour when everyone else is good and ready. In addition, when we come on to play we tend to ease into the set list and play the most familiar stuff we play at lower volume so that the elder guests present will continue to hear songs that are still familiar to them. We then progressively get more contemporary with our set list and things tend to take care of themselves out there on the dance floor. Our responsibility at a bar room or nightclub is to jump right into it and get people going.
5. Q: We are getting married at the same place where the reception is. Is it possible for you to amplify our ceremony with both processional music and recessional music played from your computer that we have chosen?
A: Absolutely. We have done this many times. If you need suggestions as to which music to use we can help you there as well. The speakers used for the ceremony are much smaller yet just as powerful as those used for when the band plays so they are both audibly and aesthetically pleasing. No problems keeping them out of cameras eyes nor hearing them from the back of the ceremony area.
6. Q: Do you send out a contract to secure the date and is a deposit required?
A: Yes. I send a contract out as soon as you have made a verbal commitment to Those Guys that you want us to play your wedding. This will secure the date and put your mind at ease that we will not double-book your wedding. It will also spell out specifics such as deposit information. Usually, a deposit is required anytime six months before the date of the wedding or as soon as the contract is received if the date has been booked with less than six months to go. I also send out our electrical rider which spells out what we need at the site electrically to make things go for us. I ask that you turn this rider over to the facility so they are aware of what we require. They initial a copy and send it back to you for your records.
7. Q: Do you get together with me and my fiance before the wedding to go over the specifics/itinerary of our wedding?
A: Yes, I like to get together with you and your fiancé to go over any part of the wedding that we will be responsible for. If physically meeting is not possible then we can do it over the phone. As host of your wedding I like to go all of the specifics so that we are all on the same page. The cocktail and dinner hour music, introductions, name pronunciations, first dance, blessing, toasts, parent dances, etc. I also like to get a feel for what kind of mood you would like to present. To be asked to be the host of your wedding I am honored and take the responsibility very seriously.
Of course if you have any further questions, do not hesitate to contact me directly. Thanks for looking and the best of luck with your planning!!
